Using the Library of Congress for Reference
One of our favorite locations to find indispensable reference photographs here at N Scale Limited is the Library of Congress website. It is chock full of images, data, building plans, and many other items to help answer questions and make you a better, more prototypically sound modeler. To access the photographs there are a few steps to find them, to begin goto loc.gov site, then on the top of the page select the “Library Catalogs” button. Next you want to select “Start Searching” under the Prints & Photographs Online Catalog, then select the “Search the Catalog”. Type in the subject you are looking for and when your search comes up I then hit the “Preview Images” button, some images will come up, however most are in groups and all you have to go off of is the description, some of the best items that I have found have been in the groups.
These are a few of my favorite photos I have found on the loc site by photographer Jack Delano, enjoy and happy hunting
