Three Printable Texaco Billboards

Three Printable Texaco Billboards

Texaco was founded in 1901 as the Texas Company and in 1928, became the first US oil company to sell gasoline under a single brand name in all 48 states (Hawaii and Alaska were not yet part of the US).

Of all the Texaco gasoline and oil products, one of the most famous is Fire Chief gasoline which was introduced in 1932. Fire Chief gets its name because the octane of the fuel was high enough to meet the needs of fire engines.

Because Texaco has been a national brand since the late twenties, and its Fire Chief product kept that name from 1932-1982, Texaco Fire Chief billboards are a perfect choice for most model railroad layouts.

The three designs provided below are slight variations of a Texaco ad that ran in 1950.

See this billboard in use on the side of Chris Brimley’s scratch-built Dominion Building.

Hi Pam. Welcome to the new site and thanks for your comments. Bob (Great Scaper) has been here already and you're right, Chris and I will both be creating articles and content for N Scale Limited.

And of course, you're more than welcome to submit photos, article or anything else you'd like to share with readers here. Check out the "Contribute an Article" page from the top navigation. Don't feel like you need to write an article though. If you'd like to submit photos, we can write something small to accompany it for you.
