Santa Fe Parade Train
This video, created by The Original Wheels TV, features an interview with Charles Tiemann, owner of “MyTrain“.
MyTrain, as Charles calls it, is a 1950 Santa Fe Super Chief “parade train”. That is an aluminum-skinned locomotive shell built onto a Dodge truck chasis — designed specifically to be driven in parades.
The parade train was built in Kansas by the Santa Fe Railroad itself and surprisingly, Charles found the train (painted blue) and neglected in a field. The then owner gave the parade train to Charles who has since restored it to its former glory.
MyTrain is still used in parades and for special events. See MyTrain.com for photos and more information.
